Dow pulls back; Nasdaq hits new high

NEW YORK - The Dow Jones industrial average
suffered a bout of altitude sickness Wednesday,
stumbling for a loss after making a charge at
the record book on the way toward the elusive
               9000 mark.

RELIGIOUS GROUPS FIND REVIVAL ON THE WEB:

Sure, you can find pornography on the Internet. But you can also find God.
In a nation where attendance at churches and synagogues has been stagnant
for decades, a religious revival seems to be taking place: Thousands of
computers on the World Wide Web are serving up sermons and Scripture for
        all occasions.
Techie laymen have taken it upon themselves to create home pages for churches,
but now officials at the highest levels of mainstream religion are beginning to
realize that's not enough - they need to get with the program themselves.

       ADVOCATES WARN OF ALZHEIMER'S EPIDEMIC:

WASHINGTON - Unless scientists find a way to prevent or cure Alzheimer's, the number
of Americans with the brain- degenerating disease could more than triple as the
population ages. "Many of our nation's baby boomers have a time bomb ticking in their
       heads today," said Stephen McConnell.
The group's projections indicated that by 2050, when the youngest baby boomers will
be in their 80s, 14 million Americans could suffer from the disease, compared with
        4 million today.
