 G-7 NATIONS URGE JAPAN TO BOOST ECONOMY:                          
 WASHINGTON - Japan is coming under increased pressure from 
 the U.S. and other major industrialized nations to do more to boost its
 flagging econnomy.
 In a joint statement, finance ministers and central bank presidents from the
 G-7 group of nations say they're concerned that Japan's troubles could cause
 renewed financial turmoil in Asia and beyond. The G-7 officials issued the
 statement following their meeting Wednesday, at which they also made no
 explicit commitment to intervene in world currency markets to prop up Japan's 
 sagging yen.
